serial #2051350, 30-06, 24” 3-63 dated “NM” marked Springfield Armory barrel with a bright about excellent bore with a few pinprick pits and strong rifling. The metal surfaces of the rifle retain about 90% arsenal applied parkerized finish with light wear on the high edges and contact points, silvering at the rear of the receiver with a darker tone to the parkerization from the rear sight back, scattered spots of light oxidation on the receiver, receiver legs, and trigger housing, traces of light pitting, and scattered light handling marks. The pistolgrip walnut stock is in very good plus condition as lightly cleaned with an about 4” stain on the left side of the stock, a few traces of bedding compound on the handguard, and a few light handling marks; the action is glass bedded and the stock is unmarked. The receiver markings have softened, but the barrel markings remain crisp. The trigger housing, hammer, safety, and bolt are of Springfield Armory manufacture with the trigger housing marked “-12”, the bolt marked “-19”, and the hammer being postwar production. The milled triggerguard is marked “C46025 WRA”, and the factory relief cut operating rod is Remington produced and “NM” marked. The gas cylinder, hooded rear sight aperture, and windage knob are all “NM” marked, with the hood being marked “595”. What appears to be the faint remains of a DoD acceptance stamp are on the underside of the bayonet lug. Unfortunately, no authenticating documents are included with the rifle, but one typed and one hand-written range card noting the necessary adjustments for different ranges are included with the rifle. A solid example of a late M1 National Match rifle. (14A9100-1017) [Richard “Stretch” Kennedy Collection] {C&R} (1500/2000)
