serial #G10228, 12 ga. by 30-06, 25” Krupp Spezial Laufstahl barrels choked a tight improved cylinder and a light full, all showing bright excellent bores. The barrels retain about 98-99% original blue, with some very light borderline engraving at the side-clipped breeches with the makers name and model, as well as Sigarms importer marking. The frame is a pleasing silvery coin finish and shows a fox and waterfowl right with stag and hind left, with wide open-flowing scroll on the belly of the frame, showing a bit of very light oxidation scattered there as well, being the natural carry area of the arm. The triggerguard, top lever and barrel selector retain all their original blue. The checkered capped pistolgrip European walnut stock has a scant hogback comb and rates near excellent showing only some sparsely scattered very light handling marks and features a rounded shadowline cheekpiece and some lovely grain figure; the semi-beavertail style forend is similar with only a tiny blemish or two. The length of pull to the grooved plastic Sauer logo buttplate is 14 1/4”. The gun features double triggers, the front a single set, pin-style cocking indicators, top mounted barrel selector, left side Greener safety, dual under bites and Greener crossbolt. The arm is sighted with a flat face sourdough style front sight, square notch rear which flips-up when rifle barrel is selected and maker-fitted with dual claw bases; the bases hold quality 30 mm blued steel rings. Included in the left side 12 ga. barrel is a quality 22 long rifle sub-caliber adapter showing a bright excellent bore. The arm is tight on-face with all of the nice engine turning on the breech face showing little if any wear, and seems to function well mechanically. An excellent quality “modern drilling” in those most-American of chamberings, awaiting its next trip afield on crisp autumn days.
