The barrels retain about 98% later reapplied blue finish with a small wear mark on the left barrel near the breech, scattered specks of light oxidation, and scattered previous light pitting beneath the finish. The frame has been cleaned to bright with small spots of light oxidation and pinprick pitting on the grasping area, and the triggerguard and side lever retain about 98% reapplied blue with specks of light oxidation and previous light pitting beneath the finish. The checkered straight grip walnut stock is in very good plus condition with scattered light handling marks, robust checkering and is a contemporary replacement, and the splinter-style forend is in very good condition with an old slender chip on the right side near the tip, a few light handling marks, and is original to the shotgun; the buttstock features a checkered butt and an about 3/4'' monogram plate which shows light wear. The frame is tightly foliate scroll engraved, however the engraving on the underside of the frame is lost due to cleaning and the engraving along the sides has softened as well; the engraving along the top of the frame and on the fences remains largely intact. The left and right sides of the frame are lightly marked ''STEPHEN GRANT'', and the rib is more crisply marked the same with light engraving where it meets the frame. The barrel flats have been cleaned and over-stamped with modern British nitro proofs, export marks, gauge markings, and ''SLEEVED'', all of which remain crisply stamped; traces of the previous proofs are noted beneath the new. The forend is serialized matching to the shotgun, however the barrels are not. The barrels lock up tightly and are on-face, and the chambers depth-gauge to approximately 2 1/4''. The shotgun requires mechanically attention as the triggers sporadically fail to fire, and the sidelever sticks. The shotgun features double triggers, extractors, an automatic safety, a single brass bead, and a 14 1/4'' length of pull with drops of about 1 5/8'' and 2 3/4''. An updated Stephen Grant sidelever that could use a bit of fine tuning. No items are to be removed from our facility until paid for in full by the purchaser. GUIDELINES FOR FIREARM DELIVERIES All Federal, State and Local firearms laws will be strictly adhered to. FFL holders may take possession of any firearm on day of sale (excluding Class III) when they present a signed copy of their Federal Firearms License. If an FFL dealer is sending an “agent” to pick up items, that person must be a bona fide, paid employee of the company with a W4 on file. Outside contractors cannot be used as pickup agents. A SIGNED LETTER FROM THE FFL STATING THIS FACT MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF PICK UP. The FFL Dealer will in turn be notified that a transfer was made to you as their agent. New Hampshire residents over the age of 21 may take possession of any firearm, on day of sale, provided the proper paperwork is completed and the transfer has been approved either through the N.H. State Police or the FBI NICS System, whichever is appropriate based upon the type of firearm(s) purchased. Non-resident individuals from states without waiting periods may take possession of long guns on day of sale after completing the proper forms and successfully completing a NICS check. If you reside in a state with a waiting period, your items will need to be shipped to a dealer in your state. No modern handguns will be delivered to non-resident individuals. All modern handguns purchased by non-resident individuals will need to be delivered to or shipped to an FFL holder in the buyer’s home state. Buyer is responsible for any and all shipping charges and all items must be paid for on day of sale. Bidders should be familiar with their local and state laws as Amoskeag Auction Co., Inc. will not be responsible for any parties purchasing items which may not be possessed in, or shipped to their state of residence. C&R - for firearms that fall under the ATF Curio & Relics licensing and if purchased by a person with a “C&R License” no paperwork is required. NOTE: Items that meet the age requirements but have been altered from their original configuration may NOT be delivered on a C&R License.
