This carbine has been updated in the inter-war period by Hungary into 31.M configuration and is the typical mix of parts. The metal surfaces have mostly toned to a dull brown patina showing scattered moderate oxidation staining and a few remnants of original blue in the protected areas. Most of the original markings remain clear and the chamber is stamped with a large "H", the Hungarian designation for the new 8x56mm cartridge. The buttplate is stamped in large font "W-7623" and the distinctive front sight protector assembly is present. The smooth pistolgrip hardwood buttstock and handguard remain in very good condition showing scattered dings, scratches and shallow light chips. The Hungarian acceptance commission "KAB" stamp on the left side stock is faintly visible along with the number "7477". All sling swivels and the stacking rod are intact, the barrel is not matching the receiver, the bolt is un-numbered and there do not appear to be any import markings. Still a very good example of these rather hard-to-find carbines. GUIDELINES FOR FIREARM PURCHASES • All Federal, State and Local firearms laws will be observed. FFL holders may take possession of any firearm on day of sale when they present a signed copy of their Federal Firearms License. New Hampshire residents over the age of 21 may take possession of any firearm on day of sale providing the proper paperwork is filled out and the transfer has been approved either through the NH State Police or the FBI NICS System. While most NICS and State approvals are immediate, approvals could take up to 3 days. Most non-residents may take possession of long guns on day of sale after completing the proper forms and successfully completing a NICS check; modern handguns will need to be shipped to an FFL holder in the buyer’s home state. Buyer is responsible for any and all shipping charges and all items must be paid for on day of sale.
